I guess there's one thing most people lack these days; self-identity. To the left and right, you see nothing but following of the latest trends and culture. It's either clubbing, hip hop, bling blings, or fashion-core, the latest being the "emo" trend. Like what Corey Taylor said, people nowadays are made out of plastics, as it's the clothes you wear that matters more than who you really are. That's what pop culture has become in recent years I guess. The word "emo" has been revolving around lately and it gets oversensitive, overexposed and overused. It all focus nothing but negativity towards life which is filled with hatred and angst. While U2 seeks for positivity, The Used goes for the point of negativity. Slitting wrist and wrist bands with a message, that's so oh my contradicting. Perhaps the industry is better off with alternative and grunge music as nonsensical and out of point lyrics prompt people to not give a crap about it. People are just too obsessed with the latest trend and gossips and they are missing out on some aspects of their lives. Perhaps for all, it's never too late to regret.
